President – James Neely

Brother James E. Neely is the newly elected president of the Zeta Kappa Lambda (ZKL) Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and officially took office in September of 2016. Brother Neely was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. in the Fall of 2010 through ZKL. Since becoming a member, he has been dedicated to the work of Alpha.  Brother Neely is a current board member of the Zeta Kappa Lambda Educational Foundation.  He was chair of the Black & Gold Ball (2012 – 2015).  He has also been the chair of the Project Alpha program since 2014.  As a reflection of his commitment to the work of Alpha, Brother Neely was honored as Zeta Kappa Lambda’s 2014 “Brother of the Year”.

Brother Neely is a native Rock Island, Illinois.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Illinois State University in 1991, and his MBA from Drake University in 2001. Brother Neely has been happily married to his life partner and best friend, Bridget, since 1993. He is a proud father of their sons – James, Julian, and Jaden.  Brother Neely is a technology professional with over 25-years of corporate experience.  In addition to balancing family, work, and Alpha, Brother Neely provides service to his community in many ways.  He serves at his church home – Corinthian Baptist Church as a trustee board member.  He serves as a mentor in the JUMP program within Johnston Community School District.  He also serves on the board of directors for Civic Music Association.   In his leisure time, Brother Neely is a car enthusiast who also enjoys golfing, fishing, listening to music, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and spending quality time with his family.
